2021.09.18 22:29 Tiny_Jelly3395 Just recently diagnosed with ROCD and started therapy with a specialist last week but I need to vent and maybe even ask for advice.

So my fiancé and I have been together for almost 4 years. We’ve had a great relationship until this year. I had a lot of deaths in my family and caused me to have a mental break back in April. And every since then I’ve been doubting my relationship like crazy and my partner. All of these childhood traumas came up and I find myself questioning everything about my partner.
I’ve accused him of cheating, being abusive and just recently gay. My mom’s last marriage ended because of her husbands homosexual past. I find myself obsessing Over these things. I feel like I’m trying to sabotage the relationship and if I don’t stop I know I will. He’s been so patient, so kind, understanding etc. but even then I’m like “why is he still here? He’s hiding something because no one would take this”
My mom triggers me and I haven’t told her about my diagnosis. She brings up her old marriage and just brings me back to the “what if’s”. It’s just ALOT.
Any advice on how to help with these triggers and obsessions?

2021.09.18 22:29 Flosam Is working as a bank teller a good part-time job for someone wanting to work in economics?

As the title say, I am currently studying in economics and want to work in the field. I have been offered the opportunity to work as a bank teller but the pay is almost 3$ below my current job and it is farther from home. Is the experience gained by working at this job worth the pay decrease? Does it really matter to recruiters? Would it benefit me if I apply for internships/jobs at the same bank?

2021.09.18 22:29 KaleBennett Looking Back on Turnabout Visitor

The future is overrated, we're going back to 2019. From what I've seen, this case doesn't get a lot of a praise and is commonly regarded as either weak or solid. Time to leave the courtroom behind while looking back on Turnabout Visitor.
History With This Case From my most recent memory, I remember this being a great case, and the best case in the game due to the length of the case preventing any major issues from being formed.
This case will be judged by its characters, trial segments, and investigation segments. Character criticism will revolve around the character's personality, role in the story, and their actions throughout the case. Case segment criticism will revolve around the enjoyability of any investigations or rebuttals and quality of the story being told during that segment. So despite this case not involving a courthouse or trials...
Court is now in session for the trial of Turnabout Visitor.
Characters Miles Edgeworth
Miles is fantastic. While I feel his personality was stronger in the GBA trilogy, I like how he's connected to the case directly by having the crime take place in his office with the culprit trying to get his property. I like the interactions he has with Gumshoe, and the logic-based gameplay and brief period outside of the crime scene perfectly showcase his thought process and how he functions differently both outside the courthouse and when compared to Phoenix and Apollo. He's my favorite character in this case.
Dick Gumshoe
Gumshoe's great. His connection to the case is weaker than Miles's since he just gets accused once and spends the rest of the case in the sidelines, he gets some great interactions with the cast, particularly Miles. I like how, despite Miles clearly being smarter, Gumshoe can still manage to keep up with Miles's logic, sometimes taking the words out of his mouth.
Buddy Faith
He dead.
Jacques Portsman
Jacques is great. I like how flashy he is, albeit that's mostly in his animations than in the dialogue, and his plan to take suspicion off of him is pretty cool.
I should say this now since this hasn't happened much until now, but I don't consider a culprit being spoiled in the opening to be a negative since because this is a replay, I'll always know who the culprit is, and I don't want to rely on my memory of how predictable or shocking a culprit's reveal is.
Maggey Byrde
Maggey's good. I'm still not that strong on her personality since it feels like her defining personality trait is "bad luck", and she feels like she's here just to have someone to accuse of murder, but I like some of her interactions with Miles and Gumshoe.
Overall
A great cast of characters. Each character is close to the same quality as one another, and while the amount of characters may be a negative to others, I don't mind since I feel, for the most part, they're doing the most they can with the small cast and succeeding at it.
Beginning Investigation + Rebuttals
This is fantastic gameplay. The 3rd person logic-based investigation system is really fun to use, making exploring the prosector's office more engaging. Logic is a cool and fun gameplay gimmick, and while the rebuttals currently aren't on par with normal cross examinations, I like how they're introduced and used here. My biggest complaint would be that I feel the tutorials for things like evidence examination and deducing could've been toned down, and should've been more like Logic that just gets an introduction instead of a tutorial.
Story
This is a fantastic opening chapter. The opening cinematic scene with Buddy's death and Miles being threatened are really cool, having the crime take place in Miles's office gives him a connection to the case outside of his occupation, the way Miles and Gumshoe were deemed suspects on the spot is really cool, and the logic-based gameplay allows for a ton of great revelations regarding the events of the murder and the culprit's motive. My biggest complaint would be that the ending felt a bit anticlimactic, and by editing the segment a bit, Maggey being brought in would've been a better ending and cliffhanger for the next segment.
Overall
This is a fantastic opening segment. The new style of gameplay and storytelling leaves a great, unique first impression, and I feel encouraged and motivated to keep going.
End Investigation + Rebuttals
This is perfect gameplay. The tutorials are gone outside of talking to people, and now the focus is making what worked better, with every gameplay aspect from the last segment either remaining the same or getting a small boost, like some more Logic to deduce or some extra deductions during the rebuttals.
Story
A fantastic final chapter of the story. While there weren't many major character events, the story is still engaging with a ton of great revelations and a cliffhanger regarding the Yataragasu that doesn't feel like it ruins the satisfying ending before the reveal.
Overall
A borderline perfect final segment. The story is about on par with the first segment's, and the gameplay feels bigger and better, make the segment an overall improvement from the first.
How I Would Improve If I were to try and improve this case while retaining most of its original identity, I would make two changes.

  1. I would give Maggey a more interesting personality. Maggey has felt mostly the same to me in all her appearances, but this is the first time where she's my least favorite aspect of a case, and I think it comes down to her feeling pretty generic. Her gimmick is having bad luck, but that always feels like an afterthought and not a tool for development. She never feels like she's overcoming her bad luck or slowly giving into it, at least not in a notable way. She's always a defendant that gets into trouble by accident, and I feel this case makes it the most evident since she's literally pulled into the case to be a suspect.
  2. I would make the case a bit longer. I don't consider the case being short to be a major negative since, unlike 1-1 and 2-1, it feels like this case is using the timeframe to its benefit. But it does hurt a bit, specifically in the first segment. Without combining the segments, I feel making the case longer could help to make the ending feel more justified and the gameplay feel less like a tutorial.
Final Verdict This is a really great case. I wasn't expecting myself to like this case as much as I do but, like 3-1, 3-4, and 4-1, it uses its short timeframe and role in the game to its advantage, allowing it to be on par with longer, bulkier cases. There are issues with the case, some a result of it being short, but it still manages to have a great cast, fantastic story, and incredible gameplay.
8.75/10, it's going between 3-1 and 3-2.

2021.09.18 22:29 Firm-Recipe-3022 Wondering about rules for the Royal Children’s hospital and dropping off gifts for a friend of my daughter?

I should call but it’s the weekend and so staff is slim. Does anyone know if I can drop off a gift at the front desk? Or is this not allowed because of Covid? A friend of my daughter got quite ill and I’d like to leave something’s for her if possible.

2021.09.18 22:29 lokee129 Getting tough bottles clean...

Hi there. I'm looking for advice on how to get really stained/dirty bottles clean. My partner and I generally buy bottles for cheap from bottle redemption centres. The big problem is a lot of them come with gunk (can't think of a better work) and mold caked pretty good on the bottom and around the inside of the bottles. I'm kind of picky and if I see even small amounts of gross stuff inside the bottle, I won't use it. Ive tried lots of different methods to get them clean and nothing seems to work. Bottle brush, soaking for a long time with a strong cleaner and shaking the hell out of them, etc.
Does anyone have any good advice on how they get theirs clean? Or should I just be a cherry picking the ones I take from the redemption centre a little better? Thanks!

2021.09.18 22:29 Pathosean Spellcasters vs Kineticists

Heya,
I was wondering which of the two was more powerful in general. A spellcaster able to dish out 9th level spells regularly, or a Kineticist? I'm generally a little bit lost on the power levels of spells and casters in general.
Thanks in advance!
